Fenix LD10 Review

Fenix LD10 Review

The Fenix LD10 is a compact LED flashlight full of features. This is an brief review conducted by the Holiday Light Express team. We will continue to beat this light up over the next couple months so check back for updates.

Appearance:  We never thought we would say this about a flashlight, but it looks good! It really looks like something that would cost $55.95. It has a very nice black finish, anti-roll ring and slots for the lanyard. It also has a pretty sexy case.

Durability: This little thing looks tough! Even though it is not a true tactical flashlight, it really looks like one. When you pick it up it feels like something that you could throw a few times, drop even more times and it would still work. It's made from aircraft grade aluminum and is also water proof, so you don't have to be too careful with it!

Size: Well, it's little! You could easily carry this flashlight in your jean pocket all day. If it was in your backpack, you might have to dig for it to find it! It's also very light weight. This is good if you need a lot of light power and don't want to carry the extra weight. This light can easily be encompassed in your hand, so if you like to have something bulky to shine with, this is not the light for you.

Light: It's quite impressive actually. The amount of light that comes out of this small little device is just plain impressive. What's even better is that you can choose different light levels. It has four different brightness levels you can pick from so you have just enough light for your needs. This also will allow you to save the battery by using lower modes. When this light is on high, it easily out shines our 2D Mag lights that are WAY heavier to carry.

Power:  It runs on a single AA battery. There are other battery choices to choose from, be we only tested it with a AA. The CREE LED is also very nice. It really makes sense to use LED's for flashlights since a LED is the most directional light source!

Use: Did we mention this thing is easy to use. The thought of six different functions on a flashlight seems a little over whelming when it comes to using them, but the LD10 makes it easy! To turn the light on you need to press in the tail button. To change modes you need to softly touch the tail button. (It's really cool to play with!) The light defaults on low, then you tap the tail clicky to go to medium, high and SOS. To get to the turbo mode, just turn the head all the way and press the tail button. This blasts out 120 lumens. A soft touch here turns on the strobe mode which will easily blind you!

What We Liked: It's small and easy to carry, it's tough, it looks cool, you can impress your friends with it and it's really bright!

What we didn't Like: The light doesn't remember what setting it was on last, so it defaults to low.
